+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #727938 +++
Bug 727938 was about McAfee ScriptScan and McAfee Site Advisor. I'm splitting the two concerns. This bug is just about ScriptScan.
Site Advisor is definitely leaking (see bug 727938), but I couldn't find where to install ScriptScan. Anyone know? We need to confirm this before taking any action such as blocklisting.

I have done some test on win7 x86 (VMware) and I can’t reproduce any problem with just Script Scanner (SS) installed (no SiteAdvisor). You can't install SS by itself but it comes with McAfee VirusScan.
Test:
1) Home page is google.com when FF is first launched – wait a bit
2) Launch 7 more tabs (cnn.com, msn.com, news.com, yahoo.com, tomshardware.com, anandtech.com, ebay.com)
3) Open a new tab and close the first tab (google.com), this way no page is loaded because new tab is empty.
4) Wait a bit
SS is disabled: ~55MB (start) to ~85MB (end)
SS is enabled: ~55MB to ~85MB
Strangely memory usage goes up when I start closing tabs (highest I got is 298MB) although it will go down eventually.
I couldn't see any noticeable performance different
