User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:10.0.2) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0.2 Build ID: 20120215223356 Steps to reproduce: I'm trying to save something from the Web -- a HTML page or just an image Actual results: Firefox tries to save everything using a .py extension. I tried on a Windows machine, there it adds a .rb extension. Expected results: Actual file extension, if any, should have been added as per the resource name pointed by the URL.
Following URL shows a question being asked on this issue by some other person: http://superuser.com/q/387813/119121
Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
No -- in safe mode it seems to work fine!
That means you likely have a faulty extension. You may try to track down which one is the culprit: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes#w_test-for-faulty-extensions
Ok, found the buggy extension: Selenium IDE: Python Formatters 1.6.0 It's working fine now. Thanks for the help! You could close this ticket.
