Details
(Keywords: 64bit, hang)
User Agent: Opera/9.80 (Windows NT 6.1; U; en) Presto/2.10.229 Version/11.61
Steps to reproduce:
Normal browsing, when loading a page on a new tab or refreshing/browsing an existing page.
Actual results:
The page being opened never gets rendered. After that, no other pages can be loaded. Firefox shows the spinning "loading" icon an stays like that forever. Closing firefox in this state does not really close it, it is required to kill it's process.
Expected results:
It should have opened a page without hanging.

Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode?

How about with a new, empty profile?

I'm running it now in Safe Mode to try that.. will post the results.
Also I have not tried a new, empty profile, but I can say that 2 other users next me have the exact same problem (running in normal mode on their profile). In common, we run Firefox on a Dell Latitude E6220 with Win7-64bit.

to demonstrate this is specific to 64bit, you should also test 32bit build please
Severity: major → critical

I have been running x86 for a few months and have not had this problem since.
I'm currently on 16.0.2.
Since it has been a long while can't say with 100% sure, but I think it got fixed after cleaning up the settings of my profile.
Let me know if there's something else I can provide you with.
