The top right of the Firebug UI has a search box where I can search within the html source. The same feature would be helpful in Inspector. Use case: Sometimes pages have many divs or many frames. Looking at the source, you may find an interesting div/frame that you want to highlight, but you can't seem to find where on the page that div/frame lives. Using the "find" feature in inspector, you can search the html source for it, click on it, and see the highlighted part of the page where the frame/div lives. (Note, that even with firebug today this is a little bit buggy. You find the tag, you click on it, but then have to use the firebug menu and click "Inspect Element". At that point, you are often inspecting a different element since your mouse has now moved.)
