Would be good if they were mad as dark as the other sidebar menus, also when i am on text we should make the text on the login page a bit darker

The background color of the edit menu is tweaked so that it looks the same compared to other sidebars. Is this the right move? In my opinion, it reduces the difference between the editmenu and the sidebar

Yeah, they look too similar now. We can make them fat, but that'd probably put too much focus on them, and in all honesty I'm not convinced they are hard to read for people with disabilities. After all, the text there is already bigger than our main body font.

I have spoke to some people about this and they think it is a good idea
as its hard to see the editing menu's
I thought we were ment to make the site a lot more accessible for people with a disability

I think the issue is not about font size, but how light the text is compared to the background, almost indistinguishable to my very good eyesight. I think Bram's mockup is a step in the right direction at least, to make the text darker so contributors can have a chance to see them.

There are WCAG guidelines for this, we should follow them. http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG/

I have implemented the color scheme used in comment 4. To do something more drastic, let’s wait on the visual redesign to happen. I believe that the redesigned sidebar links will remain blue-colored, but also bigger. This should help readability quite a bit.

David, those are standard colors used across mozilla.org We can't just change them on SUMO.
I'm marking this fixed as the new sidebar has more contrast than the old one.
