STR: 1. Quit Nightly. 2. Open a txt file with Nightly from the File Manager. Actual results: File contents aren't shown until you minimize and focus on the browser again. Expected results: Content should be shown.
Which phone and device are you running, and which build? This works fine for me under 2.3.4 and 4.0.2 on an Xperia Play and a Galaxy Nexus. The checkerboard does appear as part of the cold-startup process, but I do eventually (talking about a second here) see a sample text file.

Contents are only shown if I minimize and open Nightly again.
As suggested by Aaron on #mobile I tried this on Maple and got the same results.
Do you happen to see sites fine when opening them via a third-party application through a cold-start of Nightly?

WFM as of today's Nightly.
