73343 - Hitting the "del" key in sidebar deletes a mailnews message

To reproduce:

Start the browser, bring up mail news.
Select an item in the mail news headers pane.
Go to What's Related in the sidebar.
Select something in the related links, or the "data not available" item.
The selected item in the mail news headers pane will become gray.
Hit the "del" or "delete" key.
The mail news message will get deleted.

Filing against sidebar, but bug may be related to event propogation (clue this
is the case is that this bug is reported to only happen on Linux and Windows,
not mac; perhaps not coincidently, the last person to work on events is a Mac
head afaik)

This bug drives me up the wall. It's especially dangerous because deleting the
mail message can't be undone. Any chance of a fix?

Well, if the mail header is going grey it looks like focus is in the right
place. If you hit the up/down arrows before delete, does the message pane switch
messages?

Nope.

cc'ing mscott, since he had an idea about changing the sidebar and/or AIM panel
so that they don't bubble up the event.

This bug is always reproducible in Mozilla 1.0RC3 on my Windows 2000 system. 
Steps to reproduce:

- Load Mozilla mail and bring up the sidebar displaying the address book.
- Select a message in the main mail window.
- Select an address book entry in the sidebar panel.
- Press the del key.

Instead of deleting the address book entry, the message that was selected (and
is now greyed) in the mail window is deleted.  It can be undeleted, but this
assumes that you noticed it getting deleted!

By the definitions on <http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/bug_status.html#severity> and
<http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi?format=guided>, crashing and dataloss
bugs are of critical or possibly higher severity.  Only changing open bugs to
minimize unnecessary spam.  Keywords to trigger this would be crash, topcrash,
topcrash+, zt4newcrash, dataloss.
