STEPS TO REPRODUCE: 1. Start firefox with a fresh profile. 2. Inspect tab strip. ACTUAL RESULTS: Some significant percentage of the time, there will be a leftarrow at the left end of tab strip, taking up space, even though I only have 2 tabs open (firstrun page & about:home) EXPECTED RESULTS: No leftarrow at left end of tab strip. =============== ADDITIONAL STEPS TO MAKE ARROWS GO AWAY: (after step 2 above) 3. Hit Ctrl+T about 10 times (creating tabs until the tab strip overflows) 4. Now close tabs until the tab strip no longer overflows. --> At this point, the arrows disappear. Without doing steps 3 & 4, the arrow sticks around in my tabstrip, cluttering it up. Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:13.0) Gecko/20120311 Firefox/13.0a1

Here's a screenshot of a just-opened Firefox window, using a fresh profile.

...and here's a screencast of the "ADDITIONAL STEPS" I mentioned in comment 0, for getting to a good state (no arrows)
