Favicon should at least be displayed if there is no thumbnail displayed (due to cache control flag or other reasons).

Tim, we could use this as a temporary solution while we decide about bug 755996. A favicon is obviously better than nothing.

That's bug 783339 now. Let's not confuse showing the favicon as a replacement for the thumbnail with showing the favicon in addition to the thumbnail.

I didn't mean to actually add that comment, I sent it in error. I just wanted to add bug 783339 to the "see also" field.
