The old AppSync approach is no longer supported, given that we are heading in the direction towards Apps in the Cloud. We need to remove all references to AppSync on the staging server.

I don't think the appropriate assignee is this case. Leave this marked open.

Summary: Remove all references to the old AppSync on the staging server → Remove all references to the old AppSync in the HTML 5 dashboard codebase
Assignee: nobody → ianb
Removed from the HTML implementation, not yet deployed: https://github.com/mozilla/openwebapps/commit/ebbb614f8259c186150f94da3e5667b988249b6b (Not removed from the extension, but the extension is more-or-less defunct)
I don't think this is possible to verify on staging, outside of knowing that AppSync is not deployed on staging. We'll have to verify this bug on production only. Ian - Can you confirm this to be correct or not?

Actually, I can confirm that the sign in button is not showing up without the extension installed, which is the important part. The OWA extension as Ian specified, is not supported anymore, so testing needs to occur there. I'll mark this as verified then, unless Ian has ideas of other things to try to test on staging.

no testing needs to occur there for the OWA extension is what I meant to say*
