Details

Mozilla and Netscape6 users are being penalized for using Mozilla by a number of
sites with broken browser sniffing (e.g., http://www.avl.com/,
http://mobileinternet.ericsson.se/, etc.), as well as by a number of banks (e.g.
bugs #57537, #73737).

Could Mozilla implement custom user agent strings? MSIE has been cloaked as
Mozilla forever, Opera went even further and allows the user to choose a user
agent string from a list (see File > Preferences > Connections in Opera 5.02).
Is there anything preventing Mozilla from doing the same thing?
This is being worked on. Marking dup of bug 46029 "[RFE] Multiple user_agent
prefs like in Opera."

Reporter: I marked dup, but the backend for this feature actually already exist
as a user-pref. See comments in bug 46029.
