RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 468535

People

(Reporter: greggomez3, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:11.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/11.0
Build ID: 20120312181643

Steps to reproduce:

Firefox would close (relocate perhaps) a tab when I have more than one tab and place it in a brand new browser window. Its frustrating because I have sites where I have the front end one one tab, and the back end (admin) on another.

Actual results:

Firefox will eventually move one tab and there will be two separate browser instances with and tab on one and the other tab on the other (there will two browser instances on the task bar) Never seen anything like it.

Expected results:

All tabs should stay on the same browser instance.
Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode

How about with a new, empty profile? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic%20Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile

Are you dragging the tabs out of the window by chance?
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bug489729-disable-detach-and-t/ is a workaround for now.
