It would be great to be able to import and export scratchpad code from services like github (gist) or pastbin. Services could be added with addons. Gist API: http://developer.github.com/v3/gists/
Summary: Possibility to export/import code from remote services (github!) → [scratchpad] Possibility to export/import code from remote services (github!)
Do you think we need want/need UI for this feature or an an extension of the GCLI scratchpad command would be enough? Regardless, being able to do this from the GCLI would be awesome! scratchpad --gist <id> ?
Depends on: 683513
Advantages of doing it in GCLI: - should be quick to implement - we can 'test things out' without significant UI impact There's nothing to stop us seeing how well the idea flies, and creating a UI in a second step.
Dave built an addon for that. Dave, can you add a link to your work here?
