User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:11.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/11.0 Iceweasel/11.0 Build ID: 20120330193039 Steps to reproduce: If I ever let on Windows 7 another Browser besides Firefox 11 become the Default Browser, then Firefox will not keep my default setting ever again. I set it as default and when I ex out of Firefox , the next launch is asking if I want Firefox as my default browser. This goes on and on forevermore. No Windows Problem. Same thing with Iceweasel 11 on Debian Squeeze. Actual results: I say Yes , but it does not stay. It stays until I go out of Firefox . I have not been able to find a solution ,therefore I believe it to be a bug. I have emptied all cookies , passwords , cache, and everything else and it does not work. Purged and reinstalled Iceweasel 11 on Debian Squeeze. Same poor result. Expected results: See discussion on: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2452583
Reproducible on: Firefox 20.0 Beta 7 (20130325214615):Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:20.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/20.0 Latest Aurora (20130326042012): Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:21.0) Gecko/20130326 Firefox/21.0 Latest Nightly (20130326030941): Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:22.0) Gecko/20130326 Firefox/22.0 This is only for 64-bit version; works fine on 32-bit version. Steps to reproduce: I. 1. Start Firefox for the first time (or a clean profile) 2. When asked to make it your default browser 3. Click "Yes" II.1. Start Firefox while other browser was previously set as default 2. Go to Edit | Preferences | Advanced | Click on "Make Firefox the default browser" Expected result: Firefox should become default browser. Actual result: In both I. and II. cases, Firefox is not set as default browser.
