Details
If we have 2 NS plugins installed which have common MIME types, FF shows only 1 of the plugins the the file handing preferences (in preferences > Applications). For e.g mozplugger and libreoffice/openoffice/VLC/xine mozilla plugins.

Could you please try the following, to see if you still reproduce the issue : 1) try this with a clean profile: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles 2) running in Safe mode: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

If you are still seeing this issue, could you please be more specific? Which Firefox version are you using? What are you seeing in Preferences > Applications? With latest Aurora 28.0a2 on Ubuntu 13.10 64-bit, I have installed both plug-ins (MozPlugger 1.14.5 and VLC Multimedia Plugin (compatible Videos 3.8.2)), and when I go to in Preferences > Applications, I can see some content types that use VLC (for example: Ogg Audio, ANX file, MIDI Audio, etc.) and others that use MozPlugger (for example: AVI video, LibreOffice (Text Document, Presentation, Spreadsheet, etc. ), MPEG video, etc.).

For e.g. use the freshplayerplugin and flash plugin. "never activate" one of the plugins, close the add-ons manager tab and reopen again. Both the plugins get deactivated.
