If we have 2 NS plugins installed which have common MIME types, FF shows only 1 of the plugins the the file handing preferences (in preferences > Applications).

For e.g mozplugger and libreoffice/openoffice/VLC/xine mozilla plugins.
Could you please try the following, to see if you still reproduce the issue :

1) try this with a clean profile: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles

2) running in Safe mode: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode
Someone got any e.g. plugins?
If you are still seeing this issue, could you please be more specific? Which Firefox version are you using? What are you seeing in Preferences > Applications?

With latest Aurora 28.0a2 on Ubuntu 13.10 64-bit, I have installed both plug-ins (MozPlugger 1.14.5 and VLC Multimedia Plugin (compatible Videos 3.8.2)), and when I go to in Preferences > Applications, I can see some content types that use VLC (for example: Ogg Audio, ANX file, MIDI Audio, etc.) and others that use MozPlugger (for example: AVI video, LibreOffice (Text Document, Presentation, Spreadsheet, etc. ), MPEG video, etc.).

For e.g. use the freshplayerplugin and flash plugin.

"never activate" one of the plugins, close the add-ons manager tab and reopen again. Both the plugins get deactivated.
