Nightly Fennec 14.0a1 (2012-04-12) Devices: HTC Desire Z (Android 2.3.3), LG Optimus 2X (Android 2.2) Steps to reproduce: 1. Open fennec in portrait mode 1. Load yahoo.com 2. Tap on the search field for the VKB to appear. 3. Tap on the back button. 5. Tap on the search field again. Expected: The search field is selected and the VKB appears. Actual You can't select the text field again. The focus is moved and another link from the page is loaded. NOTE:Please see the video http://goo.gl/CBdzZ
It looks like wherever you tap after you dismiss the keyboard is completely offset. It just so happens that the search-box is matched up with the Finance ticker. I tried touching Mail in the top right, and it went to weather.
Summary: Second time selection on a input text field is not possible in portrait mode → Touch position is completely offset from where you tap after you dismiss the virtual-keyboard on Yahoo
Could you try reproducing with the build at https://people.mozilla.com/~kgupta/tmp/clamping.apk ? If it doesn't happen with that build then this is because of bug 732016.
