Steps to reproduce
1. Go to any website.
2. In the same website go to a direct download link - 1.usa.gov/deeXKM for eg.
3. Tap in the URL bar to modify the link - to download a related file from the same location would be a plausible scenario.

Expected Results:
The correct URL is displayed.

Actual Results: 
The original link is kept instead of the new one.

Notes:
The stock Android Browser and Dolphin HD do not change the title and treat the link like it was never used. Opera Mobile changes both the title and the URL allowing the user to modify the link after the download.

So what you're saying is that you want a manually entered direct download address to become the address bar's current URL over the current page?

The issue is treated in 2 different ways by other browsers:
1) Keep the link over the old one and allow users to modify it - I think this would be the correct behavior and it is also the behavior on Firefox Desktop.
or
2) Remove the link from the title and the URL which would not create problems in activating the download with fwd/back navigation but would discard the entered URL and make the user manually enter the link every time.
