I can't find any reference to a 'thunderbird-try' branch. Where does this come from? Are we using a different repository for pushing to try for Thunderbird builds?

Good catch - that should read try-comm-central.  Here is the Thunderbird try repo:

 http://hg.mozilla.org/try-comm-central

Assuming we get the automation updated, we should be able to continue to use that repo.
