Nightly/14.0a1 (2012-04-19) Device: HTC Desire OS: Android 2.2.2 Steps to reproduce: 1. Go to goo.gl/bl0Uv 2. Wait for the download to finish. 3. Open the file with any of the available apps. 4. Close the app and return to Nightly. 5. Go to the Download Manager and try to open the file. Expected results: The file association is recognized just like it was when the file was first downloaded. Actual results: The file is presented as not being supported. The icon is the Android Market icon and when trying to open the file the behavior from Bug 746998 can be seen. Note: The issue is not reproducible using the Android stock Browser.

This has nothing to do with *.MID files in particular it seems like when 'Open' is selected, the user will not be prompted with the 'Complete Action Using' system file association dialog. When a default it set; it will not target the default too. I/ActivityManager( 193): START {act=android.intent.action.VIEW dat=file:///mnt/sdcard/Download/a-zaki.mid flg=0x4000000} from pid 1654 The above is all I see in console and nothing else.

Summary: mid files are not recognized as supported by the Download Manager → When opened, entries in the Download Manager will not always prompt for Android 'Complete Action Using' file association handler
