Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:10.0.4) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0.4
Copy actions are not allowed in full screen mode on Firefox 10.0.4 ESR. The copy dialog appears but the link is not selected nor can be selected. If full screen mode is exited the copy dialog remains opened then the link is selected.
Reproducible: always
Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch Firefox 10.0.4 ESR
2. Join the html5 trial on youtube: - http://www.youtube.com/html5
3. Load the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkgeowyofoa
4. Enter Full screen mode
5. While in Full screen mode right click and from the context menu select:
- Copy video URL
- Copy video URL at current time
- Copy embed HTML
- Copy debug info
Expected results:
- the copy dialog is opened and the link is selected
Actual results:
- the copy dialog is opened but the link is not selected. If Full screen mode is exited then the link selection is made.
Note:
Reproducible on all platforms: Mac OS X 10.6, Ubuntu 11.10, Win XP, Win Vista.

This issue is also reproducible on Firefox 10.0.6 ESR:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:10.0.6) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0.6

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:15.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/15.0
This issue is now reproducible also on Firefox 15 beta 5, the latest Nightly and Firefox 14.0.1 (on Windows, Ubuntu and Mac OS X). The only difference is that when performing step 5, the copy dialog is opened and the text is selected (on ESR the text was not selected).
On Windows XP and on Windows 7, the copy actions (while the video is in Full screen mode) is not performed on Chrome either.
On Ubuntu 12.04 and on Mac OS X 10.7 the copy actions are allowed on Chrome.

(In reply to Anthony Hughes, Mozilla QA (:ashughes) from comment #3)
> Can you determine if and when this regressed?
This bug was originally logged for the ESR branch because - the copy actions were not allowed on all the Firefox versions < 10. On Firefox: 4.0.1, 5.0.1, 6.0.2, 7.0.1, 8.0.1 and 9.0.1 the Full screen mode for the HTML videos was not properly entered and, when selecting any 'Copy' item from the context menu the copy dialog was opened but the link was not automatically selected and the selection was impossible. On Firefox 10.0.2, the full screen was properly made but the selection of the link in the copy dialog was also not done.
For all the other Firefox versions > than 10, Full screen is properly entered, the link in the copy dialog is selected when choosing one of the 'Copy' items, but the copy action is not performed (on Firefox 11, 12, 13.0.1, 14.0.1, 16.0a2 and 17.0a1). I could reproduce this on Windows, Mac OS X and Ubuntu.
Like I said in Comment 2, the copy actions are not performed also on Chrome, but only on Windows. On Chrome, there are no problems of using the 'Copy' items while the HTML videos are in full screen on Mac OS X and Ubuntu.

This might be a tech evangelism bug since I don't recall this happening before on the newer Firefox versions (> 10), since this bug was originally logged only on the ESR branch and since it's happening on Chrome on Windows platforms.

This would only be a TE bug if it only happened on YouTube. Can you please test this with some other HTML5 video sources?

Tested on several html5 videos and the copy actions while the video is in full screen mode are performed:
http://videos-cdn.mozilla.net/serv/air_mozilla/07272011_brownbag.ogg
http://www.robwinters.co.uk/lab/html5/video/drag-and-resize.htm
http://videos-cdn.mozilla.net/serv/marketing/fxforandroid/10-07-12_firefox_for_android_american-640x360%20Video%20Sharing.webm
That does seem to indicate this is a TE bug, thanks Simona. Kev, is it possible to do some outreach to YouTube in regards to this issue?

This works fine now on Firefox 22 RC:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:22.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/22.0.
But it still reproduces on Firefox 17.0.7 ESR in fullscreen mode and non-fullscreen modes:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:17.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/17.0.

YouTube has a custom menu shown for HTML5 VIDEO elements, it's not Firefox's built-in <video> menu, so this is naturally a Tech Evang issue. The menu I get in Firefox now says "Get the video address" and pops up a small dialog with the address pre-selected so you can copy it manually. It works the same way in both full screen and normal display. I think YouTube has fixed the issue.
