Sorry, I made a wrong assumption at our meeting. 

The memory is *not* duplicated even if the response body is used at two places: the source cache and The Net panel itself.

The Net panel is only *referencing* the data stored in the source cache.

I am closing this bug since I think the current implementation is actually correct.
