Every now and then, questions come up on how current versions fare compared to old versions, or "if we have seen trend x happen previously" etc.

Currently, I'm putting old version values into /daily manually and extending date ranges to cover the correct times, but it would be good to have that supported officially, esp. with the plans to kill oldTCBS.

We only need high-level crash rate data, no per-signature numbers, so the amount of data should be pretty small. Releases and betas are what we usually want to track, so that's the versions we want to have around as a minimum, for Firefox 5 and higher, ideally data for all channels.

After talking to Kairo on IRC, this just amounts to keeping the crash count, and ADU information for old releases and not discarding it.
This should be done, database-side, with Mobeta.

QA, you should be able to check this by editing the crashes-by-user page URL to look at old versions: https://crash-stats.allizom.org/daily?p=Firefox&v[]=

Kairo, are you saying you want the controls (drop-downs, etc.) to actually have the old versions available?

This was resolved with Mobeta, AFAIK. If not, Kairo should reopen it.

So, where is the Firefox 4 data I can easily access and compare the current data with? Is there some good UI for it as well, as I had hoped we would get?
Kairo: you were asked about UI in comment #2. Please read, answer, and reopen if needed.
I spoke with Kairo on irc -- he'll make comment 5 a todo on his list.

I'd like that and more creative ways to mesh up the data like correlating different releases by days after their release date or by similar ADU levels, but you don't always get what you wish for. ;-)

Seriously, if having that old data available is officially supported now and not expiring, I guess that's enough for this bug and we can go for a new one to do more creative UI and allow selecting old releases directly there.
