When I visit http://www.ting.com/, I see a message on the page that says: Browser Support We want to make sure you have an outstanding Ting experience. We are not able to deliver that on your current browser. Please consider visiting us again using the latest version of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, or Opera. I am currently using the x64 version of Firefox 15a1(Nightly) on Windows 7 Pro x64. I will email the company with a link to this bug and will update it if I hear back from them.
I pinged them on Twitter (@tingFTW) with a link to this bug. For their reference, my User-Agent is Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:15.0) Gecko/15.0 Firefox/15.0a1.
This may be related to the latest change in the UA.
(In reply to Brian Carpenter [:geeknik] from comment #0) > Please consider visiting us > again using the latest version of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, > Safari, or Opera. They are fairly broken, get the same massage with current Opera 11.62
Works now, even in Nightly 16 and Opera 12.
I still see the message from comment 0.
I last heard from them on July 3rd via Twitter: https://twitter.com/tingFTW/status/220166330119241729
Seems they have a pixilated, inimical UA sniffing policy with a positive list, adding a new UA if they have heard of one. Not much we can do except hoping they do it right. I'll stop waisting my time. Tested http://www.ting.com/, it's redirected to https://ting.com/, using builds downloaded today. (Clear cache!) Works: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0.1 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:14.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/14.0 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:15.0) Gecko/20120712 Firefox/15.0a2 get error message: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:16.0) Gecko/16.0 Firefox/16.0
Still not working. Clearly their dev team is either slow or overburdened. Message from here: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Evangelism/UA_Date_Change_Letter sent to firstname.lastname@example.org today. Gerv
Gerv, I pinged them via Twitter again since I hadn't heard from them since July.
Today, I got the following from Tameika Toorie via Ting's ticket system: Hi Gervase, Thanks so much for the heads up. Our web masters are aware and are working towards getting this fixed. I really appreciate you forwarding this issue over to us nonetheless. Take care, Tameika
This is no longer an issue with Nightly, can anyone else confirm they fixed their website?
WFM, even after clearing cookies.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:19.0) Gecko/19.0 Firefox/19.0 works, let's close it
