The fix for bug 750424 obviates the need for this macro per the comment 8 from Andrew McCreight [:mccr8]. Please determine whether this is no longer needed and remove it.

Months later I've decided to back out bug 750424 (in a way that will prevent leaks), so I think this is invalid now. :)
