Details

When you right-click on the URL-bar, only the context menu pops up. In NS4.x and in IE, the content of the bar is automatically selected when the user clicks it and it doesn't already have focus. I'll try to fix this myself, but don't get your hopes up... :-)
Isn't a context menu more useful - after all, you can still 'select all' simply by holding the button down and moving to the bottom of the menu. You can also double-click in the location bar to select all. Seems to me there are enough ways already, and by limiting right click to 'select all' you would be removing functionality.
Actually, left-click also selects the contents in NS4.x. Updating Summary. Gabriel: I'm sorry, apparently my report wasn't precise enough. In NS4.x as well as in IE, BOTH the url-bar's content is selected and the context-menu is shown. I think this is a better solution than the current one, because IMO the user mroe often copies/pastes/deletes whole URLs than editing them partly.
Summary: Right-clicking on the url-bar should select its contents → Focussing the url-bar should select its contents
