Requester info: Requester: Jean-Bernard Marcon Wiki user profile: https://wiki.mozilla.org/User:Goofy Event wiki page: https://wiki.mozilla.org/MozFR-2012 Advance payment needed: Yes Budget breakdown: Total amount requested in $USD: $ 9500 (7500 €) Costs per service: Service 1: Hotel rooms, 10-15 pax * 2 nights Cost: 3000 € Service 2: Community dinner, 30 pax Cost: 1500 € Service 3: Travelling costs (flights + train) Cost: 2000 € Service 4: Finger food / drinks for the event Cost: 1000 € Service 5: Cost: Additional costs: (add comment box) Success measurement: How will the event help push the Mozilla project forward? The French-speaking Mozilla community didn’t survive the recent changes — the most active contributors have become very bitter and decided to leave the project. :-/ It’s very sad but now we have to move on. The first required action is to have these former contributors transmit their know-how to new volunteers, and this has to be done before the Summer time. We have to build a community that doesn’t rely on a small group of highly active people, but on a (hopefully) much larger group of less active contributors. We were focused on l10n tasks and FLOSS events; we’re proposing to rebuild the community around five activity groups (l10n, dev, support, evangelism, propaganda), and we have to discuss that in person with our contributors. We also have to gather the whole community around MozFR. So far we had three groups (Frenchmozilla, Xulfr, Geckozone) and these three groups are dying… we have to team up and get these people to better know each other. Last but not least, we have to meet everybody and work on the technical infrastructure to help contributors to get more efficient. We see a few new nicks on #frenchmoz, it’s time to turn these nicks into real-life contributors. Metric 1: transfer the activities that were lead by former contributors who left the project (e.g. Transvision tool, website admin, translation tasks…) Success scenario: abandoned activities get new owners Metric 2: organize the MozFR community in five activity groups + have a representative for each activity group Success scenario: the five activity groups are created (l10n, dev, support, evangelism, propaganda) Metric 3: unite all French-speaking communities around MozFR.org (frenchmozilla.org, xulfr.org, geckozone.org) and host common resources on mozfr.org servers. Success scenario: all websites are hosted on the same server the same webdev/sysadmin team can re-organize all websites Additional information: I Goofy am filling this form on behalf of Fabien "kaze" Cazenave who recently applied to be a Reps but has not received any answer atm so cannot access this doc. I also send a mail to William right now with my personal bank details.

Thanks for filling this request! For some reason I still can't access the remo budget request form…
(FTR, I’ve been accepted as Rep but still don’t have the necessary permissions to access the budget forms)
Thanks Jean-Bernard for submitting this budget request. Rami Khader will be the lead reviewer and will review it with the Mozilla Reps council. Please bear in mind that this budget will require unanimous approval because it is above $5000 USD. Stay tuned! @Fabien: your mentor forget to give you access to the forms. I've corrected that so you should now be able to submit budget and swag requests :)

I understand this budget request comes with a very short notice and I’m sorry for that. :-/ Would that be easier if we requested an advance payment only for the hotel, and ask everybody to do an expense report after the event?
Yes, that will make it much easier for us.
One of the main goals of the meeting is to reboot the French localization team with the previous localizers transmitting their knowledge to the new volunteers. CCing Chofmann to see if we can make it a joint event between l10n-Drivers and the ReMo team and share the costs.
Thanks for submitting this request. Your request has been approved. Please provide us with - Paypal account to transfer the advance amount of the money (Hotel invoice) - scan and attach all relevant receipts to this bug, so we can reimburse you after the event - the hotel invoice - indicate the twitter hashtags, flickr photos and blog posts related to your event on this bug and on your event wiki page Thanks and good luck for your event!

Can you all provide your PayPal accounts so we can process reimbursements immediately? If you don't have a PayPal account, can you coordinate with someone who does ? Thanks.
(In reply to William Quiviger [:williamq] from comment #15) > Can you all provide your PayPal accounts so we can process reimbursements > immediately? > > If you don't have a PayPal account, can you coordinate with someone who does > ? > > Thanks. That would be a total of 380 € for me, my PayPal account is the same as my bugzilla mail. Also I think PayPal is taking a % somewhere during the process.
A note to all: Mozilla covers the 4% transaction fee for PayPal payments so you don't have to worry about it :)
