The way s.m.o/questions/new is, causes more than 25% of the users to not keep going through the process. UX has found that users need more visual cues to understand what's the right option for them. There's a leakeage of people who search for than page and people who go to the Home Page. It seems that it's not that obvious that the links in the middle bottom of the page are the way to go. We need to make this path more obvious. Bram has proposed a whole new structure for the page as you can see here: http://people.mozilla.com/~bpitoyo/sumo/sumo-wireframes.pdf For now we can simply increase the size of the icons and change the ones for Mobile and Home into something more descriptive of the devices (Users don't necessarily recognize Fx Home as Home and call it Firefox for Iphone). Perhaps an interim solution could be to revisit this old mock-up. I can update the icons if we agree on it.

I think some kind of progress bar at the top might help too. I know this is very important in e-commerce sites during checkout so users know where they are in the process.

The progress bar is covered in bug #759831.

This only affects the desktop templates, but we should make sure it doesn't break the mobile templates, too.

Bram or Ibai, where can we get these larger icons?

Added a folder with the 5 icons. Let me know if you need them in any other format. They are 120x120, bigger than the 32x32 version that we have today.

Thanks for that Ibai! Is there any chance you can provide them with a transparent background?

I will do a last minute check on the shared UX Dropbox folder to make sure that we truly don’t have a better iteration of the Firefox for Android icon. Last time I checked was around 2 weeks ago.

Maybe this is a fitting alternative? I am going to look for more assets, but don’t think that I will find any.

Hey Bram, This was actually pushed to master yesterday and pushed live this morning so if the icon has to change you'll need to open a new bug. Thanks!
