Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:12.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/12.0 Build ID: 20120420145725 Steps to reproduce: Running on latest XP SP3 (updated) Firefox 12.0 Go to any link, say this: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/12.0/releasenotes/ Press Edit.Find Enter some in the lower left find area . Works fine, it will find a few instances of the "some" string. NOW: enter 123 Actual results: After entering string "123", which is not found, your find bar blanks out, and you can not enter subsequent transactions. Expected results: Was hoping to submit string 123, get a response that it was not found, and be allowed to reenter a new string, say string "some" again.

Works for me. I cannot reproduce your problem.

When you type the "123" string, firefox echoes back the 1 and 2 characters. Once you type the 3 character, Phrase not found comes up, and your find area gets blanked ou, with you not being able to type any new string in there. One can hit ESC, and the area shows 123 highlighted, and you can go from there .... but one need not geek around with ESC cape just to find a 123 string. Maybe this is related to some echo back setting, but I am on default settings as far as echo back goes, as far as I know. Maybe default settngs need to be changed, if there are any. Once area gets blanked out, you can keep typing, and eventually you will have a buffer overflow, and all will be echoed back .... but this is the wrong way to go about things too. Thanks for your check Alice.
