User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:12.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/12.0
Build ID: 20120420145725
Steps to reproduce:
1) Close firefox via the standard exit menu option
2) Open firefox. This most recent time there was a restart in between, and a new window from an addon that installed itself, but I don't think either is necessary
Actual results:
I generally have 3 to 5 windows with 3 to 10 tabs in each. About once a month, one or more (never all) of the windows will have a size of 0 or will never reopen, making me lose important tabs.
If the windows have size 0, I can hit F11 and copy down the URL. If it doesn't open at all, the tabs aren't in the recent history and are lost forever.
This has been happening for at least a year. It has never gotten better, maybe worse. I'm soooo sick of it. This is the equivalent of occasionally microsoft word deleting your word documents, as I have no way to get back the important list of tabs.
Expected results:
Normal reopen of ALL windows, same window size and position.

Hello Stefan,
Due to this bug, I changed my habit to only ever opening one firefox window. I still receive problems of *similar* description. For example, today I opened Firefox and none of my tabs were loaded (I have it set up to reload previous tabs). With Australis, there's an option under "History" called "Restore previous session" which worked perfectly (not sure if it always works - I'll look out for it). However, I have no idea why I would sometimes need to click that button. It might have something to do with FF being started by adobe to bring up their "after update" page. This happens more often after a FF crash, though not always or exclusively in that case. This could be the most recent incarnation of the same bug. This happens about once a week for me.
The only workaround to prevent losing tabs has been to routinely save all tabs to a bookmarks folder.
I can't consistently create it - it's one of them random bugs.
I was on FF 31 this morning when it happened. The only add-ons I've had consistently since 2012 are adblock plus and https everywhere. I'm still on Windows 7 x64.
