The Java plugin (jre.xpi and Sun's own) works on this build 2001041610. But
attempting to leave a page with a running Java applet crashes the browser. From
the http://offenbach.org/ page, I need only click the browser's "Home" icon, or
go anwhere else, and a segfault occurs.

Linux 2.4.3, X-4.0.3
can confirm this on linux build 20010416, kernel 2.4.2, X 4.0.3, java
1.3.0_02-plugin,
this is a real blocker! But i think that another bug is already
posted...searching...

Has anyone tried the 1.3.1-beta plugin from java.sun.com?
