Specifically this is caused by differences like this:

and the extra args are required because those two _REV's are defined in the environment. As far as I can see release_sanity and the whitelist have no way of dealing with this sort of argument difference.

Bug 764160 comment #0 has the mozconfig fails for 14.0b2. CLIENT_PY_ARGS again, and also a complaint about ccache for mac.

One option, although not a pretty one, would be to have client.py look for COMM_REV and MOZILLA_REV in the environment directly rather than require them passed as args. That would let us make nightly/release CLIENT_PY_ARGS the same.
