Summary: Talos test to measure CPU load when the app is in the background → Talos test to measure CPU usage when the app is in the background
As I understand it, the desired test will launch Fennec, load a page, put Fennec in the background (perhaps bring SUT agent to foreground to force this), then measure and record cpu usage over an extended period (5 minutes has been suggested). The test would be repeated for various pages / web technologies. As a first guess, I think this would be easiest to implement as a variation on a traditional pageload test (not a robocop test). I see code to collect memory use via nsIMemoryReporter...is there a similar, existing facility for collecting cpu use? How do we want to measure and report cpu usage?
