User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:12.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/12.0
Build ID: 20120423122928
Steps to reproduce:
I installed system updates for my 64-bit installation of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, then continued using Firefox as normal.
Actual results:
Firefox CPU usage quickly escalated to 100%, causing noticeable increases in the temperature of the CPU as well as extreme slowness in the browser. I restarted the browser only to get the same problem on a blank page. I disabled all of my addons including the Ubuntu modifications and integration. I re-enabled them one by one, the last one being "Global Menu Bar integration 3.2.3". When I enabled this addon and restarted, the same problem appeared.
Expected results:
Firefox CPU usage should have remained normal. I have a Core 2 Duo @ 2.55 GHz, so it is rare that CPU usage goes above 25% while browsing, even under relatively heavy use. (Youtube video playing, 3 blogs, SMF forum)

Hello Sam,
I just found your 2 year old bug report and was wondering that there was no update on it.
after some checks I was not able to reproduce it, but i found some similar reports that was solved.
can you please confirm that it is also OK on your site with an actual Firefox Version?
thanks for all your help and sorry that there was no update over the time.
Stefan

I forget exactly when it happened, but this bug was solved with a Unity update a while ago.
