Attached file Test Case
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0.1
Build ID: 20120614114901

Steps to reproduce:

I opened the attached test case and hovered over the text

Actual results:

There was extra space, which disappeared after the hovering.

Expected results:

No extra space ever.
Did you try with another browser? Because I tested with IE9 on Win 7 and I saw the same behavior.

In Chrome on Win 7 what I see in Firefox (the line becomes shorter) doesn't happen.
As I understood and see the Issue:
hovering the DIVs one-by-one decreases the Line-Width until refreshing the Testcase.

This doesn't happen with Opera 12/MSIE 9/Chrome Canary.

Confirmed with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:16.0) Gecko/16.0 Firefox/16.0a1 ID:20120618030531 and Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.28) Gecko/20120306 Firefox/3.6.28 ID:20120306064154.

So this seems to be an old (and probably already reported) Issue.

Yes - that is what I meant.

Thank you, and sorry for the delay.

XtC4UaLL, I'm not sure I see the issue (or maybe it just doesn't happen on Mac). What do the before/after screenshots look like?
Top: freshly loaded
Bottom: each DIV hovered one-by-one
Ah, I see. Looks like bug 385615, basically: The initial width assumes all the text is bold...
Depends on: 385615
In current Nightly, the example here doesn't seem to behave quite as described - just hovering isn't enough to trigger reflow (and hence the change in width). Zooming the page in and back out, however, does have that effect.

Anyhow, this is an example of bug 385615; dup'ing.
