I know we have our own sharing API we're using, but supporting the Mountain Lion share API, to do Twitter and other social integrations at the system level, would really make the UX nice on the Mac.

Perhaps this should be added to Firefox in some way. Looking through Apple's documentation it appears that you can create a custom UI for the whole process.

The question is: Will this be accepted only for OSX ?

I do not see it being applicable for any other OS. This issue arose because of Mac OS' fullscreen API.
