The events module does not appear to support recurring events. For example, I'd like to create an event for a weekly triage meeting. Can this please be added?

Craig says the new events plugin uses custom post types instead of just a post category, which means event posts are no longer normal blog posts, which means it's essentially impossible for events to appear in the same stream as other posts. you could create events, but they'd be completely separate from the blog. You'd have to make a separate post to announce an event.
I would be fine with that, but we should seek wider consensus from the team. I'll send out an email.

I'm not 100% sure it's impossible to mix post types in one stream. I've tried it before and couldn't make it work, but I'd like to revisit the issue and try again. As a possible alternative, if a combined stream simply won't work at all, it may be possible to automate cross-posting so that creating an event generates an announcement blog post automatically and links the two together. I'll have to dig into that.
