User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:14.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/14.0
Build ID: 20120624012213
Steps to reproduce:
tools, addons
disabled all plugins
clicked on extensions
Actual results:
nothing there.
Expected results:
should be some mcafee stuff I should think and some other things. I don't think this should be empty. not sure how to tell whether there should be anything in there or not. I can't manage anything if it's not listed!

Are you sure you meant ff14b7 and not b9? I strongly suspect this to be a regression from bug 686335, because this is exactly the sort of thing I was worried about ;-)
Jim, can you please include the contents of your about:plugins and also indicate whether you recently may have received a Flash update, and whether you have restarted your computer since the Flash update may have taken place?
Also please indicate if there is anything interesting in your error console when you do this (Firefox menu/web developer/error console)?

I believe it was 14b7. I just updated ff, and it still does it.
so there ARE extensions in there. here's my extensions.ini:
I would like to get rid of testpilot. it's like a bear trap.
there. just got rid of it... there was an ask toolbar in there too, which is not listed here.

I don't see how that could affect extensions - am I missing something?

Could you attach extensions.log and extensions.sqlite from your profile directory?
Also, is there anything in the Error Console? (Ctrl-Shift-J)
Might need to open the Add-ons Manager first, and then check the Error Console.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:14.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/14.0
Could not reproduce the issue as described in Comment 0, tried on Firefox 14 beta 6, Firefox 14 beta 7 and Firefox 14 beta 10.
Installed several extensions as described in Comment 2 on Firefox 14 beta 6, Firefox 14 beta 7 and on Firefox 14 beta 10, but nothing was missing from the Extensions category in the Add-on Manager after disabling all the plugins.
- Ask Toolbar3.15.2.100013
- DownThemAll!
- Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant
- Rainbow
- Test Pilot

Blair, bug 686335 has a strong likelihood of changing the behavior of plugin tags so that there are possibly more than one tag for Flash. I was worried about the EM not being able to handle this case and throwing JS exceptions, although I didn't find anything obvious when I was reviewing the code.

I just a short time ago had deleted the extensions testpilot and the ask toolbar folder.

folks, in a new profile, the extensions show. strange though, I had a new profile created in version 13 stable, and this would not work! I had to create a NEW profile in 14b9 to see my extensions.
so my profile has become corrupt yet again...

I can't remember if any of the extensions showed in 13 or not - I thought I remembered them as blank (or maybe I didn't look). memory not real good that far back.

what I meant by comment 12 where I said "it would not work" was, I created a profile in ff13. I switched back to my original profile. that "
new profile I called "blank" remained until yesterday approxmimately, when during a bug reporting session I had to create a new profile. I tried that "blank" profile thinking it would be sufficient.
I thought: it's a new profile, right? well, not so much.
extensions didn't show.
deleted that profile.
created a new profile in 14b7 to replace it named "blank". this one worked properly.
this does not give me warm fuzzies when it comes to profiles.
during the firefox upgrade process, are those profiles really being upgraded properly? I wonder sometimes. I hope so. Looks OK on the outside.

Blair, is there any more information you need to evaluate the problem?

Juan - Have you attempted to reproduce?
Jim - our most recent beta should no longer have bug 686335, which we believe may have caused the issues you were seeing. Can you update and re-test? Thanks!

Hmm, looks like you hit bug 671894 in February, though that should be unrelated.
If updating to a newer beta (what Alex suggests in comment 16) doesn't fix it, could you:
* Open the Error Console (Ctrl-Shift-J)
* Press the Clear button in the Error Console
* Back in your main Firefox window, open the Add-ons Manager
* Click Extensions
* Go back to the Error Console, and copy everything there, and attach it to this bug

I've attempted to reproduce the problem with recent and latest beta, but I haven't been able to get into this situation.

all my extensions and plugins can be considered gone. a recent system problem caused a need to reinstall windows. I still have my old data, but due to the problem possibly being in the browser and either in some new plugins I installed or in the web site i visited, or due to general OS cruft and corruption, I am starting over (ugh - 150-200 programs to install).
by the way, several times in the past I have uninstalled adobe flash and reinstalled the latest version. over the years I have not entirely done a series of flash upgrades. now I am using 13 and a fresh install of ff and tb (probably about time).

I am not exactly sure how I could install an old version of flash to reproduce. adobe doesn't exactly make them available.
were you looking for something else? I have a fresh installation of 13.
what beta? 14? what exactly do you want me to do (I don't have my old corrupted environment)?
the problem was due to filesystem corruption.

Sorry about your computer issues :\
I'm not sure what else we can do at this point, if you no longer have the issue, and we can't seem to be able to reproduce it either. There's nothing in the attached files to suggest what went wrong. I had been hoping to see something in the Error Console, as I suspect it may have just been a UI issue.
