As part of rewriting Sync's core logic, we should expose a summary of what happened during sync.
Use case: Callers that invoke a sync via API call may want to know if data was synced, etc.
Along the same vein, we could expand this to include sync progress notifications during sync. This could be used to build a more intelligent progress bar, etc. Not sure if that is worth the cost, however.

I think the rewrite is going to come in the form of Sync.future. :-)
