771779 - Firefox 13.0.1 graphical output very slow in OSX 10.6.8in comparison to Firefox 12

Steps to reproduce:

I did update Firefox 12 on OSX 10.6.8 with the included updater functionality to version 13.0.1


Actual results:

All html5 / javascript animated webpages are now very slow and are displayed only with framerates at ~20 frames/sec. The same webpages did run very smoothly on Firefox 12, on the exact same system configuration (OSX 10.6.8, 4GB Ram, ATI 57XX, Quad-Core Xeon).

I also tried to disable hardware acceleration, it did not change anything.

See for example the background transitions on that page by clicking the numbers on the top right, it will animate very slowly and not smoothly.



Expected results:

Firefox 13.0.1 should run html5/javascript animated pages at least at the same speed as Firefox 12. Firefox 13.0.1 now runs these animations so slowly that it is not usable for anymore.

was this ever solved or can you give us an actual example?
