There is basically a whole discussion about this in bug 767070.

Steps to reproduce:
- in about:config turn nglayout.debug.paint_flashing to true
- Visit testcase https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=642031

Notice how a lot of stuff is flashing when the absolutely positioned box is moving. That should not be happening.

Could this be a regression from bug 728983?

I think that this is the cause for the bad performance on a lot of pages with text selection on Android (which uses absolute positioned boxes).

so I think it is really important to get this fixed.
This looks like a dup of 773100. Want to try the patch on that bug?
