This nondescript panel with one item in it is adding to the clutter of the
preferences dialog yet doesn't really give much hint as to what it does. What is
"Software Installation"? (I suspect it means downloadable updates via xpinstall,
but no mention of this is made). Would I want to be able to remove "software"
I've installed?
heh, i wouldn't mind removing this panel altogether --and moving this single
item to, say, Advanced? [elsewhere?] i agree with ben that this panel is both
mysterious and cluttering.
We can't very well get rid of it if we don't know what it does. What *does* it
do? Anyone?

I suspect it could be replaced by a `Mozilla Update ...' item in the `Help'
menu.
It seems xpi related, the option allows/disallows external components to be
installed. Would be better if there was an uninstall section. It is very
difficult to uninstall a component, say chameleon, without going to the hdd and
manually weed out the files then you'd have to edit other file etc... same
aplies for themes.
