Fuck you uTorrent installer. Not only do you install a Firefox toolbar without asking, but you close all my tabs in the process.

can we get that plugin blocked
"It's shutting down the firefox ungracefully and bringing it back up on Windows only" from someone in the room here

This add-on is built using Conduit technologies. We're already talking to Conduit to get them to fix their installer for all affected add-ons. It will take several weeks because they have many clients, but this one should be included. I'll post back once I have more news about it.
Summary: uTorrent plugin → Blocklist uTorrent add-on
do we have a update on this
Is the installer behaving in the same way?
The uTorrent installer still offers to install a browser toolbar, but it is optional. For me, Firefox stayed open through the uTorrent install process.
Did you see the mandatory opt-in screen, like on this post: https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2011/08/11/strengthening-user-control-of-add-ons/ ?
dont think installer is but i know the plugin is
So this Extension is still both installing silently, and is not reverting settings (Home page or Search Engine) when uninstalled. Possibly we should just block all conduit toolbars. Jorge do you have an update on the conduit issues?
Blocks: Conduit
We decided to move forward with blocking Conduit add-ons that are silently installed. Can someone verify that the newest version still has this problem?
Tyler, please confirm.

Ok, so some odd stuff is going on here:

I downloaded torrent form their website. They no longer bundle or install the utorent toolbar anymore. So that's a dead end.

However, I found a toolbar at http://utorrentbar.ourtoolbar.com/, a notorious crap site that appears to be for hosting conduit toolbars. This gives me a toobar that installs via an opt-out, uses the about:newaddon page, takes over search and doesn't remove it by default. uTorrentBar version 10.16.2.9, ID {bf7380fa-e3b4-4db2-af3e-9d8783a45bfc}. We should block this crap.

Tried contacting them through the site, but got a 500 error. Nothing left to do but to block it.
