Details
I have noted this issue with release (14.0.1) and also with nightly.
When I try to execute a bookmarklet calling it by typing the associated smart keyword in my awesome bar, it is not executed if I am on the about:newtab page.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Save a bookmarklet in your bookmarks associating it a smart keyword. For example:
javascript:alert('Hello world!');
associated to hello keyword.
2) type hello in your awesome bar.
In any page, typing hello + Enter shows an alert saying you Hello world!, if you are in the about:newtab page it not works.

Late answer, but looks like a dupe of bug 728313 - "Bookmarklet fails on about:newtab".
