It seems that the "Stop" button is actually a "Clear" button in disguise. Could it please be renamed to "Clear", and could we have an actual "Stop" button added?
Is a symptom that the "Stop" button just flashes when it's clicked, then goes right back to the "Stop" label with the profiler still running? If so, I've seen this with earlier versions of the addon and browser, but sometime in the last few weeks it went away. Make that within two weeks, I guess, according to bug 772344 dates.

The current profiler shows "Discard" and "Capture". I'm considering this old bug here effectively fixed.
