User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:16.0) Gecko/16.0 Firefox/16.0 Build ID: 20120730042010 Steps to reproduce: See also https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/933555 I have had Aurora installed on my Win 7 desktop since the channel first appeared, and have been using my Sync account successfully on it. Recently I decided to start using Firefox on my HTC One X (on Sense/4.0), and installed Firefox Beta for Android. After an initial sync failure on there, and because I actually like Aurora more, I decided to clear Beta off completely, and install Aurora for Android . Actual results: Sync always fails on my mobile. I set up the account successfully, but the Sync always fails (either immediately, or within a few seconds) with the message 'Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly'. Have been trying over a week, with various Aurora 16 dailies. (Both desktop and mobile are up to date). I have no issues on my desktop, and have even used it to reset my sync data more than once (in case there was something in it causing the issue). Expected results: It should Sync! I have attached a log, based on following http://160.twinql.com/how-to-file-a-good-android-sync-bug I started the log, switched to sync setting, attempted a sync, and switched back to pause the log.

You're getting a 401, which suggests that your username or password is wrong. Did you set up the account using the pairing wizard (typing 12 characters on desktop), or did you enter the credentials yourself?

Both. I've probably done the basic pairing mechanism about 10 times now. I also did the full credentials version (username, pw, key) once. Every time, that part works absolutely fine, with the setup completing and it telling me it's going to start syncing in the background. But when it comes to the actual sync operation, it fails.

If I had to guess, you've got a non-ASCII character in your password. Correct?
I did have an unusual character in it, so I just changed it - via https://account.services.mozilla.com/, and then updated in my desktop. Removed Sync account on my phone. Set it up again, but it failed again. However, decided to make certain: cleared Aurora data, restarted phone, set up Sync again. It's working! Seems like that password character caused the issue, it was a '£' (pound sign). Bug, or perhaps a restriction to warn others of?

It's a mis-handling of character encodings between desktop and mobile. Duping. Thanks for the thorough report!
