78161 - unable to post webpage to auth newsgroup

I'm having problems with sending a webpage to a newsgroup. The newsgroup is 
protected with username/password.

Mozilla doesn't show any error and correctly saves the send message into the 
Sent folder, but the message never appears at the newsgroup.

The NNTP log also says error:

I'm never asked for the username. Since I've read postings in the newsgroup 
before mozilla has the password in the password manager.
