From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux 2.4.4 i686; en-US; 0.8.1) Gecko/20010326 BuildID: 2001032614 When you open a file with the "Open File .." menu item, the page is loaded in the last opened window, and not in the current one. I suggest to integrate the "Open Web Location .." and "Open File .." items more, both being able to choose between the current windows (default), a new window, or maybe the composer. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Hit "File", and "Open File .." Actual Results: N/A Expected Results: Look at the description field. Look at the description field.
Use open location and select browse? Personally, if file>open doesn't load in the current window i'd want a bug for it.
Hum, the "problem" is more complicated. The file is loaded into the Mozilla window which had the last focus. (I use dual head). To trigger it in the FVWM2 window manager: 1 - Open a new Mozilla window using the "File" menu or the Ctrl-N hotkey 2 - Open the "Open File .." dialog box using the "File" menu or Ctrl-O hotkey 3 - Focus over the new Mozilla window (don't focus the original window anymore) 4 - Select a file to open. The new file is loaded into the last focused window. If I focus the original window again before opening the file, the original window will contain the new page.
Ok, then that's probably an XP Toolkit bug. We certainly don't need a window selector in the `Open File' dialog, because you can just activate a particular window and choose `Open File' from there. What we do need to do is make sure that activating a particular window and choosing `Open File' from there actually *works*.

Summary: Choose window when "Open File .." → "Open File" should open into that window, not necessarily focused window
confirming, clarifying summary. The basic open file sequence works fine, this just adds a case where the target is changed before the dialog is dismissed. Certainly minor, some mozillians might even consider it a feature ;-) ->bryner/p5/future
