User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:10.0.6) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0.6
Build ID: 20120713125334
Steps to reproduce:
Open some flash facebook game in Firefox 13 and higher, eg. Lucky Space, moving mouse pointer over game window
Actual results:
Game animation freezes and moving ingame is choppy.
Expected results:
Game moving and animations should be fluent, as in Firefox up to version 12
here is short video describing the situation: http://youtu.be/3OLg9ekl2H4
Did you try with the latest stable version Firefox 14?
And what's the version of Flash on your machine?
Yes, I tried Firefox 14. If you look at the video, first part where all is fluent and fast, is from Firefox 10ESR and second part is from Firefox 14.0.1. Each version has its own profile and same addons.
I'm using latest stable flash version 11.3.300.268 with protected mode disabled. Also tried to disable hw acceleration in flash player or firefox, uninstaled all addons, delete all profiles and install into fresh ones, but without success for Firefox 14.

Moving to the Flash component, maybe someone there knows of this.
Component: Untriaged → Flash (Adobe)
Product: Firefox → Plugins
Version: 13 Branch → unspecified
I have had issues with Flash 11.3 and downgraded to Flash 10.3 which worked better.
I tried older versions of Flash, also downgraded to version 10.3, but this issue still occurs in Firefox 13, 14, 15b, aurora, nightly. Firefox 12 and lower versions are without this issue.
And interesting think I discovered - this issue appears only when I play in WINDOWED mode. If I play in fullscreen mode it is OK (but I always play in windowed mode, because I need to see at desktop).
Hugo, can you try with a fresh new Firefox profile please.
Follow https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles
Don't add any addons or change prefs in the new profile, just test with a Facebook game (and a supported Flash version like 10.3 or 11.4).
I tried it now, but issue is still appearing (created new fresh profile with only flash 11.4.402.265 and java 7u6, no addon installed and changed any pref.)

I'm afraid not. Disabling protected mode prevents random browser crashing when using flash.
I tried newly upgraded Firefox 15, the issue continues. At the moment the only way to avoid this issue for me is using Firefox version 12 or lower (at the moment I'm using Firefox 10.0.7 ESR) or another browser (SRWare Iron)

I am not currently experiencing any issues with Firefox 19 or Nightly using the latest Flash.

For me is status unchanged with FF 19 or Nightly and latest Flash. Only better CPU (tried with borrowed Intel Q9500) or FF 12 or lower solves my situation (with my own CPU Intel Q8400), as well as another browser (actualy I am often SRWare Iron).

Hugo, if FF12- solves your situation, so maybe there is a possible regression.
Enable protected mode in Flash 11.6.602.171 then use the tool mozregression to find a regression range (see http://harthur.github.com/mozregression/).
Firefox 12 builds started in December 2011: mozregression --good=2011-12-01

Also, are you using x64 or a 32 bit build? Can you paste your build strings here?

Loic, here is my result:
Last good nightly: 2012-01-15
First bad nightly: 2012-01-16
Pushlog:

alanjstr, for nightly I am using x64 build, but tried also with 32bit. FF 19 and FF 20 beta are 32bit.

That matches up with bug 598482. I don't know if roc has any thoughts on how we can profile/measure this more effectively.

For me problem solved with overriding some preferences in about:config:
plugins.force.wmode -> direct (for flash games)
gfx.direct2d.disabled -> true (because the same problem appears in html5 games on facebook)
I don't know if it is caused by graphics card drivers (I have ATI HD5700 and latest Catalysts)or anything else, but after changing this two values everything works perfectly.

Problem returned back with Firefox 47, 64bit build. Standard build, as well as previous versions (32 and 64bit) working with overrided preferences well.
