User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/21.0.1180.75 Safari/537.1 Steps to reproduce: Loaded https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/HTML/HTML_Elements/textarea Actual results: The result of the example displays as HTML not as a DOM element, but it shows correctly if you go to edit the page
Confirming, <textarea> isn't on the list of allowed tags which breaks this particular example. The editor however allows all tags I think.

Yes, we don't want to allow form elements, so these live examples are broken. I've commented the live part out so that the page looks ok (though less helpful). In the mid-term (read before end of this year) we will have a new tools that will allow us to write live example independently of the article and display it inline: this will solve this problem (and allow 100s of much more useful inline live examples). I mark this bug dependent of this new feature so that we don't forget to reactivate this page.

This example has been converted to a Live Example long time ago and works as expected now: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Element/textarea#Example
