Using may01 commercial trunk build
leftover/found while verifying bug 45440

The Status criteria values Forwarded and New don't work.  (Status searching is
generally working for values (Is/Isn't) Replied or Read.)  Hits may indeed be
returned but they are not according to specified criteria. More often no hits at
all will be returned when there are matches in the search scope/folder. 


This applies for both IMAP, POP and news, multiple folder/acct or single folder
search.

Seems to have morphed to where using the status is new/forwarded causes the
search to not engage...

I still get this problem...

From Mail, when I select Tools...Search Messages, then for the search criteria 
a select "Status", "is", and "New" and do a search on this...the returned 
search does not find any of the new messages currently contained in my Inbox.

When I do: "Status", "isn't", and "New" it seems to find all my New messages as 
well as some non-new messages.

Any ideas?

I am not seeing a problem, in Search or MailViews, with testing Status for any 
value -- except for a message which is Unread-but-not-New, which shows an empty 
string for Status, which is unavailable for selection in the criterion dropdown.
(See bug 218853.)

Any reason not to mark this WFM?

I tried to search "Status is New" in mozilla 1.7b on Windows,
but, it does not work.

When I set the search criteria as "Status" "is" "New" and click search button,
but no action is done.
So, I think that this bug is still reproduced.

Are you sure you have new messages?  New messages are *only* those which are 
flagged with the little green arrow in the display, and that status disappears 
in response to a number of different actions.

Yes, I checked this just after I send e-mail to myself.
So, at least, I have one new message.

Also, I try to search message by "Status isn't New".
I expected that almost of all "not New" messages are listed.
But, actually, nothing is listed.

Therefore, it seems that no action.
